edit: looks like I misread. I guess this one is also going to be a short one like 14 days :(

Just read the 1st chapter,

Anyone find the neck rather thick? Feels like the art style has gone back to SJG lol. Onizuka was also really serious, feels un-Onizuka like. I guess he matured?

Looking forward to future releases.

First volume comes out in Japan today. I don't know if there's anyone else still around who collects GTO manga in Japanese, but I'm gonna go place my order. :D

Got my (Japanese) Paradise Lost vol 1 today! Oddly, it's larger format than GTO/S14D, more like Ino-Head Gargoyle in size. Also strange is that the color pages of chapter 1 are black and white here, but the color pages from chapter 2 retain their color... Odd choice, IMO. The obi advertises GTO 2014 with a small pic of AKIRA as Onizuka, as well as Shonan Seven. Under the listing of Fujisawa's other works, Ino-Head and GT-R seem to be listed as still ongoing.

Yeah the larger format would be because it's a Young Magazine publication rather than a Shonen Magazine one.

I just started reading it - I like it, however I wish he'd stay off the same repetitive motifs - one being Uchiyamada and his family.

We'll see how this goes

Uchiyamada and his family have always been my favorite running gag. That and the Saejima chapters,

However, I do agree that "student of the week" needs to change a bit.

So I haven't read much (hoping for a licence), but do we get any recurring characters? Like some of his older students? Anything?

I need more of this person:

Unfortunately none of his ex-students are featured at all. The only recurring characters from GTO that appear are Uchiyamada and his family, Ryuji and Saejima (and perhaps Fuyusuki and chairwoman in the first few chapters).

It's great Ryuji and Saejima is there (may I hope for more Saejima-focused chapters like those bizarre ones in GTO? They are like, the best parts for comedy in the whole series :D). But I feel Fujisawa is missing many opportunities with classic characters here.

Spoiler:
And I need more Ai Tokiwa panty shots

whatever happened to the love story between Onizuka and Fuyutsuki? Are we supposed to forget about it?
