Just putting it out there, I'm not going to be doing this.

If you want someone to scanlate it, I suggest you start sending messages to as many scanlating groups as you can requesting it. I've been out of the scene for a long time, but it seems as though the number of scanlation teams has decreased since the old days. So make your interest known, and maybe offer to help them yourselves to get this done.

As we have all seen before, there will probably be some group of idiots with minimal english skills jumping on this sooner or later (as is usually the case with GTO stories for some reason), or perhaps it will be totally ignored as was Ino-head. Pester some groups that have some cred and hopefully this can be avoided. I have always said a GTO series would be a nice little addition to the manga stream lineup.

Doubt it, Mangastream is only interested in the most mainstream mangas released (almost always battle manga).

I would consider GTO pretty mainstream though.

That it is. I feel confident we'll see a translation in some form sooner or later.

Damn, almost shat my pants when I saw this on Facebook...

Anything with Eikichi Onizuka is guaranteed to be fantastic. I don't have a lot of hope for a scanlation, though...

Sigh... I'm still waiting patiently for the last volume of Shonan 14 Days to get scanlated, lol... one day.

It's VERY rare that they have an illustrated manga picture on these magazine covers. Wow.

You can download the whole chapter here guys, along with the rest of the magazine contents:
Spoiler:

EDIT: Expect chapter 2 to be available in this format around Thursday...

Oh, NICE. Looks like they're expecting big things from this manga.

Well that's awesome. The one time I tell you guys when a raw is coming out, it's the one week where it's late. I'm checking all the time for it. It's expected at any moment... It could come today, it could come tomorrow...

Don't you think that in GTO lost paradise Onizuka sensei looks older than in GTO (and, of course S14D)?

Chapter 2 is out guys! Get it along with the rest of Young Magazine.....
Here.

Sorry It's a big download...

EDIT: I'm reading it now. I'll update this post with spoilers as I go.

First of all, and I don't think this is a big spoiler, the story takes place 2 years after the original GTO. Onizuka is 24 now guys.

Spoiler:
  • It's the start of a new school year, and Onizuka goes to a meeting to be assigned to a new class for the year.
  • He's late and sneaks in like a burglar. Uchiyamada mocks him a bit, and gleefully tells him that his name isn't on the register for the junior high school nor any of the other schools at Kissho Academy, which can only mean that he's been fired.
  • Onizuka jumps out of a window pretending to kill himself, but he lands on a small platform under the window. He lassoes Uchiyamada's neck with some rope and uses it to jump down the side of the building. How this doesn't break Uchiyamada's neck, I don't know lol.
  • Chairwoman Sakurai finds Onizuka, and tells him she didn't fire him. Rather she had decided to assign him to a special class in the high school, Class G.
  • Sakurai says that she created Class G for her granddaughter, and that it is a class for the talent department (as in celebrities and idols etc)
  • As we can imagine Onizuka is excited about this and fantasises about a class of sexy idols.
  • Uchiyamada barges in with a twisted neck, and objects to Onizuka new position.
  • Sakurai promotes Uchiyamada to vice-principal of the high school to watch over Onizuka. Uchiyamada is overjoyed with the promotion and forgets about Onizuka.
  • Sakurai sits back and reflects: "...Right. If it's him I'm sure he can solve it... Why did the head homeroom teacher get sent to prison, why did my granddaughter overdose and attempt suicide. All of those mysteries... if it's him, I'm sure...

Also, looks like a scanlation team called INP-MANGAZ have decided to work on this series.

A scanlation for the first chapter is out, and by a different team. I made a new thread for discussion of the latest chapter, so you can find it there :)

Wow... to think GTO would get a sequel after all this time (whether a full-fledged 'GTO 2' or a side-story-like sequel). It's something I never would have expected, that's for sure! Let's hope some company out there has someone working for them that remembers the glory days of GTO (what, back in 2002 or thereabouts? Man, that makes me feel old!) and takes this under their wing.
