Excellent work, as expected! B-but I still don't know which drama you prefer... :o

Thanks! :D

Yeah, I would have talked a bit about that if I had made the video longer, but it was getting way too long as it was and since it was supposed to be about each individual version and how they adapt the manga and not so much about how they compare to each other, I decided it wasn't important enough to include...

As for which drama I prefer? Both, please! :D These days I watch the 2012 drama more, but that's probably mostly because it's newer and I've seen the 1998 drama so many times already over the years. If I were to pit them against each other and declare a "winner", I suppose I'd pick the 1998 drama out of loyalty from having been a fan of it for so long, but really, I prefer not to draw comparisons too much and enjoy each version on its own terms.

Didn't you feel the 2012 drama was a bit too fast moving? You didn't mention it.

Not really. It certainly has a much faster pace then the 1998 drama if we're talking about how much stuff happens in one episode, something that I thought was really noticable when I rewatched the 1998 drama recently, but I don't see it as a flaw. I think it works for this version. If you're talking about how the overall story moves through the events of the manga too fast... Well yeah, I can see what you mean, but OTOH it doesn't stick to the original structure of the story anyway so again I don't think the resulting show suffers from it - of course I do wish it could have been longer, though.

Full version added to first post. No new stuff, just a combined version of all three parts.

My YouTube account does not have any time limits. If you'd like I can host it on my channel (I will give full credit to you of course and disable monetization)

Thanks for the offer. I'm fine with the long version not being on youtube though. (And truthfully, I'm a little concerned about what might happen should someone make a copyright complaint... I don't want anything happening to your youtube account because of my video...)

Great. Just great. Part 3 was removed from YouTube because of "copyright infringement"... Thanks, assholes. The full version is still up on Dailymotion though.

Saw the first two parts. Excellent job! My thoughts are more or less the same. Because I loved the 1998 drama, I was somewhat willing to suspend my disbelief for the special and the movie, but yeah, they really let me down. I remember I was shocked on seeing Onizuka was not blond  , but the drama was a different package. I hesitate to watch the 2012 one, because I'm used to Sorimachi now, not the blond guy :D . Maybe your third video will convince me.

Unfortunately, YouTube took down Part 3... but you can still watch it in the Dailymotion version, just skip to 27 minutes in.

Willst thou make a part 4 covering season 2, and the Taiwan series?

I've been thinking about doing something along those lines, I'd like to do it if I can find the time.

It was all the SJG movies and the Bad Company or only the Bad Company and you watched the movies online?
