Yappuuu to you and welcome to the forum! :D

Enjoy your stay, and feel free to jump into any discussion, new or old... As for your question, I don't know the origin of "yoo-poo" but IIRC, Nanako greeted Onizuka the same way in the first episode.

Welcome aboard... :)
Enjoy your stay here.

I don't know the source for the yaapoo either, but it seems Onizuka dislikes it. :P

Hi there! Welcome to the forums :)
So are you Italian? We have a few Italian members around here, most notably Murai82, who is our oldest active member and one of the leaders of this site.

As for Ya-po, I believe its just how they say Ya-ho (something like yoo-hoo in English) in a way that sounds cute.
Some characters do other things like that, like say Shenshei instead of Sensei (teacher).

It's basically just them trying to act cute.

In Shonan 14 Days though for example, we have a character who actually can't help speaking like that by the looks of things. Sakurako can't help but say things like shenshei, Onijuka, Sheiya, anyo (instead of ano) etc.
It seems like a childish type of speech impediment.

In my version of the anime put out by Tokyo Pop (the English dub) it's Nanako Mizuki who says "Yoo-poo!" not Urumi Kanzaki, Onizuka repeats the phrase as a question "Yoo-poo?... who says Yoo-poo?". This means to imply that "Yoo-poo!" is the mispronounced version of "Yoo-hoo!".

Welcome to the forums.

How sad it is when people only post once and never get to see the awesomeness of us. :(
