Shonan Jun-ai Gumi!
Image:
Image
released: 1990
serialized in: KC magazine [Kodansha]
available to buy in english: Yes
info: Yay! the series that started it all :D. Well Shonan Jun-ai Gumi is the manga that came before GTO, and ran for 31 volumes. It concerns both Eikichi Onizuka and Ryuji Danma's high school days where the decide to turn their life around. To them, this means leaving their street fighting, bosozoku past behind and concentrating on getting laid :D. Their strategy? To dress up as fashionable guys with no association to gangs, or street fighting (if someone dressed up like that these days though, they'd probably be looked upon as nerds ). Unfortunately, as the story progresses, they can't help but make new enemies. In this manner, they soon enough get in even deeper trouble with the local bosozoku (look it up ), street gangs and even yakuza. Old habits die hard I guess.
Well this manga spans for 31 volumes but, like Adesugata Junjo Boy, was re-released as 15 deluxe volumes. It has also just been re-released again last year into pocket sized versions... with no furigana.

As mentioned above, it was originally part of Shonan Jun-ai Gumi as a sort of flash back, but was released separately shortly afterwards. It's now pretty much considered a separate manga. Check it out! I highly recommend it of course.

Nice work. HSM is at least 5 chapetrs, because I have a image of chapter 5.

Wild Base Ballers scanlation team:
http://possible-soup.net/projects/wbb.php
They say that they are willing to share their translated chaptesr, even though it has been discontinued.

I would sticky this if I could, but, as always, I don't have enough moderator power.

I don't remember. :S
I found it a long time ago.
I think it was from something called "Tohru Fujisawa Manga Translations", it was italian, I think. And I doubt that the group still exists.

Tokko has become an ANIME! Check out my topic in "Anime"!

This site has translation for Rose Hip Zero, but I couldn't get it to work. Already email the moderator, hope to get it works soon. (It might work on your comp, just not mine)

IMO, neither RHR or Tokko really catch my interest. It's seemed plain and the plot pretty much over done by other artists, but still, it's just my opinions. To be honest, I like Saiyuki and .remote better.

The gore in Tokko is okay, not as much as I expected or as horrified as I thought.
Sorry if I offended anyone, don't mean to.

The link for Rose hip zero is dead. I had been trying to access it for several weeks now. Sorry about that.
But, so far, Rose hip zero had better rating than rose hip rose though.
May be rose hip rose is too much girl power, it seems so to me. Everyone had to wait on Asakura Kasumi to finish the battle, and if it wasn't of her, everyone would been dead, dead!!!
Haven't read rose hip zero yet, just order it from kinokuniya bookweb. It'll come later next week.

Cool, that's exactly what they said last year about november 2005 lol. Oh well I believe them. They'll have to wait a bit for RHZ since it's only up to volume 2 in japan.

New Fujisawa manga! It's called Magnum Rose Hip and I'm sure you can all guess what it's about. Unfortunatly I don't know anything more about it at this stage. It may not have even begun publication yet. Time will tell :D.
